Business terms
Version d001-business-v2 · Effective 31 October 2026
Hompt is a marketplace
Hompt is run by Plaiss Ltd (company number 17109369). It lets you, as an independent business, offer services to customers on the website, in WhatsApp and through assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude. Hompt is currently open by invitation.
You are the seller
- When a customer accepts your offer, the contract for the service is between you and the customer. Plaiss Ltd is not a party to it.
- You are responsible for the service, including any licences and insurance it needs, and for meeting consumer law, such as customers’ cancellation rights where they apply.
- You are responsible for your own tax and VAT.
- Customers can ask us for your business details (your legal or trading name, a business or contact address, email, and your VAT or company number where you have one), so keep them accurate. You may give a business or contact address rather than your home address.
What you agree to
- The identity, business, service, contact and assurance information you give, including documents Hompt asks for, is accurate.
- You have the authority to provide the services you offer and to make the commitments you approve.
- You keep your availability, offers and other important details up to date.
- Where Hompt asks you to approve something, such as sending an offer, you approve it yourself.
- You follow our privacy notice and the way it keeps and deletes information.
Being approved
Accepting these terms lets you register a business. Hompt decides whether your business can send offers after checking it, which may include reviewing your documents. The checks depend on the service. Hompt may suspend a business that breaks these terms or puts customers at risk.
Offers and payment timing
- You set your price, and choose when the customer pays: in full when booking, a deposit with the rest after the job, or all after the job.
- Before a customer accepts, you see the service, the time window, their description of the job and their general area. After they accept, you see the service address, and phone numbers if either of you chooses to share them.
Getting paid
- Plaiss Ltd collects payment from customers on your behalf and sends you your share.
- To be paid, set up a payout account with our payment provider, Stripe, from Payouts in Hompt. Stripe checks your identity and bank account, and you enter your bank details only with Stripe, never in Hompt or in WhatsApp.
- When a customer’s payment succeeds, Hompt sends your share to your Stripe account, subject to your Stripe account being ready, fraud checks, refunds, disputes and any lawful holds. Stripe then pays it to your bank on its payout schedule. Any amount due after the job is collected from the customer’s saved card after the booked time ends, unless the customer reports a problem.
Commission
- Hompt charges a commission on each paid booking. Your rate is agreed with you per service and shown in Hompt before you send an offer. An offer keeps the rate it was sent with.
- Commission is worked out on your price before VAT and deducted before your share is sent. Hompt pays the payment processing and payout fees.
- We will give you advance notice before changing your rate or fees.
Refunds and disputes
- You are responsible for amounts due to customers under your service contract and the law. If a refund, chargeback or dispute fee arises from your service, Hompt may withhold unpaid amounts, reverse the transfer of your share, deduct it from future payments or ask you to repay it, after a fair look at the evidence.
- If your share cannot be taken back from your Stripe account, Plaiss Ltd may still refund the customer and record the amount as owed by you.
- If a customer disputes a payment with their bank, we will ask you for evidence that the service was provided. Please respond promptly to disputes and customer complaints.
- Do not ask customers to pay outside Hompt for a booking made through Hompt.
Customer information
Use customer information only to carry out the booking and meet your legal obligations. Keep it secure, and do not use it for unrelated marketing without a proper legal basis.
What Hompt cannot promise
Hompt cannot guarantee any amount of work or number of bookings. Existing bookings, refunds and accounting obligations continue if you stop using Hompt.
