Customer terms
Version d001-customer-v2 · Effective 31 October 2026
Hompt is a marketplace
Hompt is run by Plaiss Ltd (company number 17109369). It is a marketplace where independent businesses offer services to customers. Hompt is currently open by invitation.
These terms apply when you use Hompt as a customer: to ask for a service, receive offers and choose whether to book, on the website, in WhatsApp or through an assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude.
Who you are buying from
- Every offer names the business that provides the service. You can ask us for its business details at any time before or after you book.
- When you accept an offer, your contract for the service is with that business. Plaiss Ltd is not a party to it.
- The business is responsible for providing the service.
What you agree to
- The information you give for a request is accurate in the ways that matter for it.
- You act for yourself, or only for an account you are allowed to act for, such as a business you belong to.
- Where Hompt asks you to approve something, such as accepting an offer, you approve it yourself.
- You follow our privacy notice and the way it keeps and deletes information.
Requests and offers
- Asking for a job and getting offers is free. Hompt charges customers no fee.
- Nothing is booked until you accept an offer.
- Before you accept, businesses see the service, the time window, your description of the job and the general area you chose. They do not see your address or contact details. Once you accept, the business sees the address where the service takes place.
Paying
- The offer shows the total price, including any VAT, and when it must be paid, before you accept. Depending on the business, you pay in full when booking, a deposit when booking and the rest after the job, or everything after the job.
- Plaiss Ltd collects the payment on the business’s behalf and passes the business its share.
- You pay through a secure checkout run by our payment provider, Stripe, by bank or by card. Hompt does not see or store your full card or bank details. Charges are currently in pounds sterling (GBP).
- Your bank or card statement will usually show HOMPT or a similar description. The exact wording depends on your bank.
- If part of the price is due after the job, your card is saved with Stripe for that amount. It is charged after the booked time ends, or earlier when you confirm the job is done. If something went wrong, report a problem in Hompt before then and nothing more is charged until we have looked into it.
- If a booking cannot go ahead after you have paid (for example, the offer expired or changed), you get a full refund automatically.
Cancellations, refunds and complaints
- Depending on the service and your circumstances, you may have a legal right to cancel a service booked online. If you ask for the service to start within the cancellation period, you may have to pay for work already done. Some services are treated differently, for example urgent repairs you asked for, or services booked for a specific date such as transport or leisure. Any cancellation terms the business sets cannot take away your legal rights.
- To cancel or ask for a refund, use Hompt or contact us. We review each request with the business, in line with your legal rights.
- If you have a problem with a service, tell us through Hompt or contact us, and we will pass it to the business and follow it up.
- Refunds go back to the way you paid. How long they take to arrive depends on your bank or card provider.
- You keep any right to dispute a card payment with your card provider.
Travel bookings with partners
Some travel products, such as flights, may be sold by an external travel company. When that applies, Hompt tells you before you continue who sells it, who takes your payment, who issues your ticket or confirmation and who handles changes and refunds. Those bookings are made with that company under its own terms, not as a Hompt marketplace booking.
What Hompt does and does not do
- Hompt checks businesses before they can send offers, passes offers and decisions between you, and takes payments on businesses’ behalf. It can suspend businesses that break its rules.
- Hompt cannot guarantee that a business will be available, that you will get a match, or how a service will be carried out.
- Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, or any responsibility the law does not allow to be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms for future use. If we make a material change, we will ask you to accept the new terms before you continue using Hompt.
